Two self-contained landscaped courtyards play a vital role within the new volume housing scheme in defining its new community. These areas aim to evoke a sense of community within the residents, promoting interaction between them and providing areas for children to play and residents to grow food.

The large, species-rich meadow lawns provide shallow surface water storage which is then recycled as part of a site wide non-potable water strategy. Surrounded by an accessible paved circulation area, adjacent to two public pergolas and overlooked by balconies, the lawns also enhance visual connectivity and provide a secure location for communal activities.
